Martín Hentschinski es Doctor en Ciencias Naturales por la Universidad de Hamburgo. Maestro en Física de Partículas Elementales por la Universidad de Durham. Licenciado en Física por la Universidad de Regensburg. Realizó estancias postdoctorales en Madrid en el Instituto de Física Teórica de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Brookhaven National Laboratory en Estados Unidos, y en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Sus intereses de investigación se centran en la física hadrónica y nuclear, la exploración de la materia hadrónica y su descripción en términos de la teoría fundamental de las interacciones fuertes, cromodinámica cuántica (QCD), el Gran Colisionador de Hadrones (LHC) y en la física de un colisionador de electrones e iones (EIC). Su interés en la física se remonta a la necesidad de entender el origen de la materia. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) nivel 1 y se encuentra realizando un proyecto de investigación de ciencias básicas con apoyo del CONACYT. Se considera un profesor que interactúa y acompaña a los estudiantes a través de su proceso de aprendizaje, mediante la solución de retos, teniendo como objetivo mostrarles el camino para que participen y se involucren en proyectos internacionales de investigación sobre física. Desde 2017 es profesor investigador de tiempo completo del Departamento Académico de Actuaría, Física y Matemáticas en la Escuela de Ciencias de la Universidad de las Américas Puebla.
